308 x 6.5 vs 260 Rem

Hi all, I'm hoping someone out there can help me out!! I am a fullbore shooter, I only shoot .308 and have never shot other calibre centrefire rifles. I recently purchased a retiring shooters equipment and have some Redding dies I want to sell. They are 308 x 6.5, can someone tell me what difference is between these dies and Rem 260...I have them listed on a classified site and am getting a lot of questions re the difference between these calibres but I honestly don't know!! Help!!

The 6.5-308 was a wildcat based on the 308 case, thus the same trim length as a 308, when Remington legitimized the caliber they slightly changed the demins. The 308 and the 260 both have 20* shoulders, so the distance from the widest part of the case to the neck is slightly longer in the 260, it has to be to get to the smaller diameter, that's where most of the difference in the two happens. It has only been since 1997 that Remington introduced the SAAMI spec. Take a look at the SAAMI drawings for the two.
