.308 with Berger 185 Juggernauts

For you guys shooting regular LR Lapua brass with these loads (+43g Varget), what has been the life expectancy of your primer pockets?

I'm starting to scrap them at 8x due to loose pockets. I'm verifying dimensions with a 0.210 pin gage

What are you guys getting?

I'm up to 11x on my Lapua brass and they're still looking good fore more (and even got to 11x on some Federal brass and pockets were still good, but about to get case head separation).

I use a Swage Gage from Ballistic Tools to look for pockets that are too large. It's like a go no-go gage where the no-go side measures .210 and the go side is .208 (see pic).

Oh yeah.

185 Hybrids, 43.5g H4895, Lapua Palma brass, BR4 primer, 0.030” off the lands

2,718 fps, ES 22, SD 7

Used the Cortina/OCW method to find the load. Very accurate out to 600 yards

Nature boy, thanks for the info. I have lapua 308 large primer brass, and federal gold medal match or CCI primers currently. ill have to see if i can get anything near the same. you have some pretty amazing numbers!

Has anyone run these in an AR10?
There are more than a few questions that would be answered before you decide on what bullet to run here.

The 185 Jugg is one of the best bullet designs ever made but it and the Hybrid work better in a longer chamber at longer than mag length, and begin to pay dividends for you at ranges around 600 yards. The 155 class bullets may be a better option for a gas gun at mid ranges.

ADI 2208 in australia is known as Varget to you guys in the states this load always shot extremely well. cci Br 2 primer was used
Now that's a group I'm searching for right now with my Juggs 29" heavy Palma barrel AR2208 Lap brass Fed Gold primers might need to pick me up some CCI ones tomorrow and I found the ES of 7 and an SD of 2.4 with a five shot group just need to find a good seating depth.
