.308 to 6BR

Good Evening Everyone,
On a Savage 10 .308 Win. What other than a barrel swap would be needed to switch over to a 6br? Would the magazine still work? It is a dbm.

A long bullet will feed ok. You may have a problem with extraction. The 6BR case is much shorter than the .308 and might come off of the extractor prior to clearing the ejection port. Get a 6br case and see if it will extract. All you looking for is to see if the extractor will hold it until it clears the ejection port.

I had no extraction with my savage action going to the BR. This wasn't a problem since it was used for bench shooting. The empty case would pull out and lay in the action so it worked out that I didn't have to chase empties all over the bench.

Thanks for the info. I have a rifle that I am debating selling or rebarreling to somthing else.
