308 to 223 bf

If it's a common action like an M700 it'd be cheaper to just sell the .308 bolt and buy the correct one rather than paying to get it modified.

Rebate the rims and use your present bolt. It has been done for years. I have mentioned before that I have some of Red Cornelison's 22 Red Russian brass. It is Remington BR brass shortened about .100", rebated to 223, and necks turned to allow bullets to set on a step in the neck. A lot of work, but good brass was not readily available at the time.
Red was in the first class of the BR Hall of Fame.

To change the boltface you have to install a new extractor, sako or M-16. It is easy to do, but kindo expensive, for a remington bolt. Problematic if the bolt already has a sako or M-16 extractor since the cross pin is in the wrong spot.

More cost effective to sell your bolt and buy a new one.

PM me if you are interested. Turnaround about a week.
