308 match load for ar 10 type

anyone know what the heck is a good, not hot, load for the 308 AR? I just got my POF 308, and need ehlp with this one. does the barrel take sometime to tune in or am I just a lusy shooter?
 
Try Varget and IMR 4064 powders. Chamber is likely tailored to 168gr SMK bullets.
42.5gr of IMR 4064 w/168 seems correct IIRC. Call Sierra tomorrow and ask them what their Service Rifle accuracy load is for M14 and begin with that...
 
My DPMS likes 175 SMK, 41.5 H4895, 215M primer in Remington or Federal case. Shoots around 1/2 MOA out to 300 yards, which is as far as I have shot it. It will shoot 165 Hornady IL, 168 SMK and 180 SMK almost as well.
 
Tag for help with this also, I tried working up a load with H4895 today. I think that this gun wants less than a bolt gun.
