.308 Laupa Brass

I am looking to purchase some new .308 brass and would like to hear some opinions on the standard Lapua .308 vs the Palma brass. I live in the midwest so shooting in temps below 50 degrees is common for four to five months a year. I have read about the ES and SD being lower and long range accuracy better with the Palma brass. Also have heard of hang fire issues in temps under 50 degrees. I would like to hear some first hand experience from anyone who has worked with both cases.

Thanks, Tim

Have shot the small primer Palma version for a while now. Many times in freezing temps. No problems using Federal 205M or CCI BR4s and Varget powder. Can not vouch for any temps lower than that but the loads, as usual, shot better than I did.

Their real benefit is in high pressure heavyweight bullet loads for 1K shooting. German and Laurie have done much research on them and a search should give you plenty of reading. Hope this helps. ;)

Thanks for the info guys. I have decided to go with the standard .308 brass as most of my shooting is 600yd or less. Plus I don't plan on running anything heaver than 175gn at this time.
