308 lapua brass

I bought some 308 lapua brass and when I opened the box the brass has stains on them. Will this affect the brass? Thanks Perk

Are you talking about a big, ugly stain around the neck and down a little past the shoulder?

Some are clear down to the rim it's not from powder. they had primers installed and a coat of case lub on them. i just want to be safe. Thanks Perk

Lapua does not polish brass after annealing and there is some color change from the case mouth down past the shoulder. There is nothing to worry about in that respect. [br]
Are you saying that some of the cases had primers seated and case lube when you opened the box? Where did you purchase the brass? Was the box sealed? Was it a gold paper box or blue plastic?

These are not new brass its not annealing. It's like they have been in water. It is not corrosion. thanks Perk

Water that has a high mineral content can stain brass. The stains usually run from light to dark gray. If you can take a little steel wool and buff away the stain, I would not worry about it. If there is any pitting, it would be more worrisome.
