Earlier this year, I had an F-TR rig built for me to my specifications, which were as follows:
Kelbly Panda F-class action with 20 MOA rib, right port, right bolt, microport, no ejector. The trigger is a Jewell benchrest with no safety and no bolt release. I used the Kelbly 30mm rings to mount a Nightforce NXS 12-42X56 w/ 1/8 MOA clicks. The barrel is a Krieger 32 inch med-heavy Palma contour in a 1:11 twist. For the stock, I selected the PR&T F-TR stock, with the adjustable buttplate and cheekpiece. For the bipod I selected the Sinclair 3gen with the elevation adjustment. The whole outfit comes in at 17.6 pounds on the club's scale.
The rig was finished just a few weeks before Raton and I barely had time to get a load developped and shoot one local match to confirm everything before driving to the Nationals. Lesson #1; I struggled because everything was brand new. The only thing that was not new was the rear bag. Not everything was as tight as it should have been and I had a technical disaster. But after I dealt with that, everything settled down. Lesson #2; always have a minimum of tools with you on the line, in this case it saved the rest of the day and week.
I am in absolute awe of the Precision Rifle and Tool stock. It is a joy to use after the initial "encounter" and I discovered that because of its flat bottom it rides the bag beautifully and I am able to keep the scope on target during recoil and follow through. When the atmosperic conditions are right, I can even see the bullet trace. Ray has a winner with that stock, highly recommended.
