For a .308 when it say 1-12 twist on the bullet box, I assume it is the minimum speed. Correct?
My rifle has a 1-10 and the bullets in question are 178 ELD match and the box says 1-12 twist.

Thank you

You are Good to Go. (A 1-10" twist is faster {by 2" for a full 360 degree revolution} than a 1-12" twist.

Minimum, particularly in a short (20" - 24") barrel.

Faster is better; 1:10 will be fine, just don't push 'em too fast.

Most 155's will shoot great out to 1,000 yards in a 1:11 or 1:12 @ 3,000 fps muzzle velocity. Heavier bullets don't need this velocity to shoot well but they do need a faster twist.

Fast twist + too high a velocity will lead to instability down-range.

1in10 twist you can shoot any bullet you want , just follow the load book listings. What are you using the rifle for ? Benchrest or Hunting.
