308 AI

Hi Guys

If there are so many AI conversions around, has anyone tried it on the 308Win yet?
Lets face it, a few hundred ft/s more would be awesome at 1000yrds

I have tried the a.i. version of this and was not very impressed...dies were expensive and i only gained about 25fps. accuracy was the same as the parent case so i just went back to the standard 308win....unless you have some extra$$$$$ and want to be different just stay with the 308 win...just my 2 cents worth...chris 308....

I didn`t have one,but a friend did,and the velocity increase was about like the statement above. It`s generally accepted that if you don`t get 100-150fps increase in velocity with an A.I. case,it`s not worth it. Cost of Dies,barrel wear in fire forming,etc. The 308 win. is one of those best left with it`s original shoulder angle. My friend who owned the rifle,had inherited it from a family member,and already had the brass & Dies. The round was definitely an Ackley,but it sure wasn`t an "Improvement".
