308,155 scenars,4064,how much powder?

Looked on the .308 page and dont see a load for that combo.I have some data for the 155 Sierra match with 4064,but noticed how much more bearing surface the Scenars have...Quite a bit! Anyway the Sierra,s shoot pretty good with 44.5grns 4064 so I'm curious about the Scenars.and a Lapua case.Thank You!

Bryan Litz's page http://bryanlitz.bravehost.com/index.html shows that among 155 grain bullets, the Sierra has a bearing surface of 0.273" whereas the Lapua has 0.390" and the Berger VLD has 0.395". I would suggest cutting the load by 1.0 grain to start and if it appears that pressure is lower, work up slowly.

The IMR website shows a maximum load of 47.5 4064 with the Sierra 155. They don't specify a case, but I think Winchester is a reasonable assumption given that load level. Typically, Lapua brass calls for 1.0 gr. less than Winchester. You're in a safe range, but you don't get spare eyes so backing down a bit and working back isn't a bad idea. You have nothing to lose a nd a bit of fun ahead.

The load German referenced is listed in the Hodgon Annual using a Winchester case, Federal 210M primer. FYI.
