300 WSM vs 270 WSM brass

Are there any issues when sizing up 270 WSM brass to 300 WSM . The Norma 270 WSM brass is considerably cheaper than the 300.
Just trying to save a few dollars.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure that they are the same length to the datum line. I'm fairly sure that 1 is longer so they can't accidentally chamber a 300 in a 270.

Just checked, there is a difference to the shoulder. I think you can scrap that idea. Nosler has some 300 WSM blems right now thru Shooters Pro Shop. Just bought some, just polishing marks on the case. Nothing that makes any difference.

I could be wrong, but I thought that the guys who build 7-300/7-270 WSMs can use either the 300 or the 270 brass to make their cases. The 7WSM is a lot longer to keep it from fitting in the 300 but it was my understanding that the 270 and the 300 were pretty much the same. In any case I'm sure you could jam hard or make a false shoulder and fire form.

This is my preferred method to produce .300 WSM brass. As you noted, Norma .270 WSM is cheaper, sometimes a lot, and the same dimensions excepting neck diameter. I expand in two steps, 7mm and .30, then turn. My results have been excellent with no downside save the small extra effort. Watch for Norma .270 WSM on sale, it is ~2/3 the price of their .300 WSM.
