.300 win stock ideas?

I’ve asked this a couple other places, and haven’t gotten anything, so I figured I’d try here as well.

I have a Savage in .300 Win Mag, that I’m in the process of upgrading. Basically, I wanted to be able to use magazines, and have something a bit more rigid of a handguard. So I decided I wanted to put it an a chassis as well as upgrading the scope & mount(though that part isn’t really relevant here). So, I bought an outlier chassis for it, which takes AR type stocks.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to what stock to put on it? Or perhaps has anyone put a magnum in a chassis, and what stock did you use?

I don’t want to put a stock on the new chassis that makes it miserable to shoot, or won’t take being used on a magnum.

Any useful input would be appreciated.

I have been thinking about using a Magpul PRS or lite stock and putting a recoil pad on it. Not 100% sure that’s the way to go through.

Has anyone tried the stock from outlier?

What "look" do you want? Nothing wrong with an A2.
Or you can have one of the many adjustable models, I like xlr's offerings. Or you can have a folder too, I have 1 but don't fold it much (it came on a used chassis i bought).

KRG Bravo. I believe they offer a version for Savage actions. I have a Rem700 300wm in mine and it works great and, is also price efficient.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I already have a chassis. I’m trying to sort out which AR tube compatible stock to put on it.

Hmmm. I would think an A2 stock on a 300 win mag might be uncomfortable to shoot. But then, I’ve never seen one with a recoil pad of any type either.

I have had a few suggestions of the xlr some other places I’ve asked.

I believe many people are skipping over the fact he said he ALREADY has bought a chassis
but is looking for a stock (as in Buttstock).... FOR..... his chassis, (....That he already has)
....yet needs a buttstock for

I've looked at Outliers chassis
They accept any AR15 type buttstock correct?
The Magpul PRS has always been great and very comfortable with full adjustability

If you are going collapsible the ACS is also very comfortable with its cheek swells
though not as adjustable but makes up for it with storage compartments

Thank you.

I was considering the Magpul PRS or lite stock, and putting a good recoil pad on whichever one. I just wasn’t sure about them on a magnum caliber, mostly because I don’t remember seeing anyone do that before.

I shoot 300wm, 338rum, and 28nosler in an xlr chassis with their standard (cheapest) stock and they have a nice recoil pad. They are 14lbs+ and recoil is not an issue except sometimes spotting your own at long range.
I used to shoot a 50bmg upper with an A2 stock with no recoil pad and it was just a big push, not a sharp painful slap like that dang 300wsm Abolt I hated!

Thank you.

Added weight helps tame recoil
Along with a good muzzle brake
You may be able to add lead or tungsten to the PRS's cavities

And of course extra recoil pads dont hurt

I have used several Magpul products and they have all worked as advertised. The PRS stock looks good. If you go that way please post your results.
