.300 win mag .339 neck?

My gun is headed out to the Smith Friday and the Smith said he has a semi tight chamber reamer (.339) and I have never used a tight neck chamber before..I was wondering the benefits there is for a tight neck and problems that are associated with it? What would the preferred O.D. be on a loaded round(.336)? How much clearance should I have?

what are you using the rifle for? target? hunting? benchrest? what brass and bullets do you want to use?

I have only been able to find Winchester brass and plan on shooting some in Williamsport, PA.. I am looking at 190-210g bullets and have been thinking of trying Berger 200g Hybrid..

Well, here is my opinion on the 300 wm the od is .339 and .308 win is .338 right? I was thinking by the time I clean up my brass with a turner it would be just right! But if .006 is the tolerance most think is needed then I may have to remove more then I thought.

I have had couple of different necks on .300 win mags I havent seen alot of gain or loss I have had a .340 and .342 both were very accurate rifles. I have a .308 with a .336 neck and its just a pain in the butt I either have to neck turn or run winchester brass.
