300 RUM + 180 Amax

Any of you guys use this particular combo--Retumbo under 180 Amax--?
Gonna be trying this out and was looking for a start piont for this combo.....Thanks.

I used 180 Nosler Ballistic tips with 100 grains of Retumbo, FGM Magnum Primers for hunting. Remington 700 BDL, 6.5-20x40 Leupold. It has a muzzle brake. 5 shot .75 inch groups at 200 yards. At 1000 yards this thing shot verywell on a 8 inch steelplate. This load is almost max so start lower and work your way up. I also bedded my rifle and hand lapped the lugs. I've been thinking of selling it, but it shoots so good it's hard to part with. If your looking to target shoot you may want to try a 208 amax, you could hunt it also if you wanted.

Ditto on the retumbo, I like to hunt with the 180 barnes to make sure the bullets don't fragment under the velocities of the RUM.

Thanks guys, originally, I had shot the 180 Scirraco(spelling...?) They faired well considering a factory loaded round and figured it would be a good start to stick with the same weight, mainly it will be hunted and when i was purchasing the 180's I was really eyeballing the 208's but didnt...I can always pick some up and throw them in the mix during testing and pick the better of the 2....

Im using 96.5 gr retumbo with 178 horn Eldx 3360fps shoots nice i use it in 1000yrd matches
