300 PRC

I use a .332" bushing Loaded round measures .334 but I have a tight neck chamber which measures .338" so I neck turn my brass. I see SAAMI spec. is a .341" neck. for the chamber. Forget the thickness of factory .300 PRC brass.

Hi Dave. Have not read all this thread. Can I use PRC brass with my 30-375 reamer?
What is your Overall Length of Brass? According to the Illustrations a "True" 30-375 Ruger should be 2.5787" Long and the 300 PRC is shown as 2.58". According to the Math, If you Put your Mic on it I'll bet it's darn near Identical. But, you'd have to lay your hands on some 300 PRC Brass to be certain. I know there are different designs out there, so there is no way for us to be certain of yours.

I seated a Berger 230gr Hybrid in a new unturned factory 300 PRC case and the loaded round neck measured .3375”. The diameter of this lot of bullets is .3085”. Based on that if you are not turning necks I would recommend a .335” OR . 334” bushing. I have found that Redding neck sizing bushings frequently (but not always) run larger than marked so I prefer RCBS.
The length of the virgin 300 PRC brass that I have measured 2.577"

Primers

I have mostly WLR and BR2 primers. Necessary to use Magnum primers?
Or recommended?
Or doesn't matter and tune to your load?

Looks like I'm not the only one thats already thinking 7mm-300 PRC! Checks a lot of boxes for sure....have a good selection of bullets and powders for a 7mm Wby to play with if I get one spun up.

The 30 Nosler is a better designed case. The SAAMI throat is much better in the 300 PRC. If I were building a custom rifle and I would go 30 Nosler and have in throated appropriately or get my own reamer made. If I were going to shoot a factory rifle all else being equal I would rather have a 300PRC.
Why is the 30 nos a better design?

Hi guys,
any suggestions for Sierra 220 Gr HPBT load? I have Lapua brass, FED GM LRM primers, powder-wise ATM I have Ramshot Magnum and RS 76 - which is "similar" as H1000 on manufacturer's relative burn rate chart. But VV powders are quite easy to get here in Europe too, so no real limitation there I see. Should I start with 220 Gr bullet from Hornady's manual (ELD X) or mby Vihtavuori app as these two have plenty of 300 PRC loads covered? I have Bergara B14 HMR 26' barrel, 1:9 twist, intended use is target shooting up to 1 km. Thanks a lot for any suggestions and happy New Year!
P.S. I do know and rather be using Hybrids 215 + Grains, but these are totally non-real to get, maybe gone forever/long time. I'm running 200 Gr Hybrids with decent results, but wanna try some heavier load:)
EDIT. I have 2 pounds of RL 25 too...
