300 PRC Brass

Thanks. I would personally want to see those numbers from more than one guy. With a case capacity of 91 that is 6 grains less than Hornady. I question the speeds and that is definitely over pressure. I have some test Bertram 300 PRC. It has a capacity of 89 gr H20. It hits pressure at about 50 fps under Hornady. If I just had to have a 300 PRC I would not go the RCC route I would wait for ADG. I am struggling to see the appeal of the PRC. My 30 Noslers spank my 300 PRC. The 300 PRC will be a one barrel and done cartridge for me.

I have used Hornady brass in 204R, 6.5 CM, 6.5 PRC, 300 PRC. It is not even close to being as good as other options in each cartridge. This is not just a I hate Hornady brass because I will use whatever is the best. Maybe some like to bash but I have compared. It is not very consistent in any dimension and has soft primer pockets. It is even softer than Norma or Nosler which I would consider soft. As far as lapua brass not lasting any longer I am not sure what you are doing but I have found the exact opposite. Where some cases only last 2-3 firings Lapua will last over 15 for the same velocity. It is often smaller case capacity so if you just loaded to the same powder charge then most likely you were higher pressure and velocity.

NO. I worked up a load ended up at the same velocity node since the case capacity of the Lapua is less the pressures were likely slightly higher but if I had to go to a lower velocity node to get the Lapua brass to last longer it would be really stupid to use Lapua instead of Hornady. Running 105 Hybrids at 3170 fps I get 8 to 10 loadings using Hornady brass no more with the Lapua brass. After using Lapua 6mm BR brass I was really disappointed with the Lapua 22-250 brass.

Okay folks, the official Atlas 300PRC brass announcement hit my email inbox today. It IS NOT ready to ship but testing is complete and the first batch is due sometime next month. I was able to get on the waitlist. I don't even have a rifle for it yet but that is going to happen in 2020.

I wonder what the weight difference is on the RCC. If it is milled they should be very close in weight and capacity. To some one shooting for the national championship it may be worth it.

I did the same thing. At 91.00 per 50, I can live with that.

Same here. Got on the list also. Sold a 100 new Hornady 300 PRC brass. Keep some for testing purposes but I’ll be running ADG out of my 300 PRC. All I need now is bushings, die, seater, arbor press, scope and rings. Oh and 230 Berger hybrids.

Anyone got a few dollars to help a brotha out? :D

Waiting for my new stock but for now I have it in one I had. Tooley Custom Rifle action. 30” HV Bartlein 9 twist, accurate mag BM and CIP length mag, 5 port beast MBM. TT special.

Great news! I've got 300 pieces of prepped, once fired Hornady brass that will last 4-5 firings.
I will cycle in ADG stuff when it's available to compare. Until then, I'm good.

I'll try some Hornady 300 PRC brass when I get the gun up and running. I'm sure it's not even close to the Lapua or Norma brass but it'll work for my load work. Hopefully some better stuff comes out that's alot less than 300.00 for 50 pieces. 1.50 ea isn't too bad considering I'd only need 100 cases. I think I could get 600-1000 loads from 100 pieces of good brass.
I just bought a box of Lapua 300prc. It was 154.00 plus tax .
