Generally no but if you have enough gas volume that 4th port does put in work.

I bought a Bergara B-14 in 300 Win Mag last night. At the Store, they have Bergara's Brake. It looks nice but has only three ports. This rifle will be for Steel silhouettes in the prone or bench.

You’ll probably be happy with it.
The design of the brake is more impactful than the port count.
MBM and Area 419 brakes are awesome on magnums, 3 or 4 port.

Vast difference? No, But MDT did a video testing the ports on a brake and their effects on recoil. I think adding the 4th port dropped recoil by around 3-4%.

Yep.
In other tests by other manufacturers they get similar results.

I have the MBM from my old 260 on my 6BRA now

+++1 on Nate's, MBM brakes, they work great, I have 4 of them on 260 Rem to 416 Rem. mag all work great. Have tried others but Nate's 4 port on my 300wg worked the best at felt recoil reduction in a 12lb gun.

Post update: I installed the APA five-port brake on my 300 Win mag. It cuts the recoil in half. I also installed a "Backfire" backstop recoil pad. It reduces the sharpness of the recoil.
