300 Ham'r vs 300BO sub/supersonic?

Good point- and thanks for the practical information.

The lighter super bullets should have more than enough room- thinking something like this for a sub-


Hopefully the shorter OAL will help, still working out a twist rate.

I have two .308” barrels, one for the .300 BO (Whisper actually) and one for the .32-20. Both have 1:10” twists. Shooting the 220-grain Sierra RN at just under sonic velocities they are stable enough for 100 yard shooting (maybe further but never tried them past 100) yet produce very impressive wounds on deer. That bullet only loses ~50 fps in the first 100 yards so it is pretty darned efficient. The tubes both shoot the Hornady 110 V-Max bullet very well at supersonic speeds. Just something to think about.
