I recently came into a couple bulk boxes of 190gr SMK's.
Anybody got any experience with them or loading data you'd care to share?
thanks,
Rich

Great info here. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/index.phpIm about to get to this... waiting on parts to come in..
The 190's shoot very well subsonic. I loaded for a 16 inch carbine gassed AR. I loaded 10.5 gr N120 with an OAL around 2.15. In playing with seating depth I achieved 1040 FPS. In my cases the bullet was just on the powder.
I don't have QL, but have a friend that does! I use the 190 smks to figure a load for the 194 Lehigh. N120 burns alot cleaner. A1680 is a go to for AR shooters because it works, lots of gas to operate the system. But God is it dirty. If you load heavy supers with it, compressed, it really becomes a different powder.81% fill ratio and 85% powder burned for this load - QL prediction with 16" bbl. I like this much better!!
Paul makes a great bullet. He has both sub and super designs for 300 BLK. If you have a single shot or bolt action, try his 100 grain load with 5 gr. of trailboss. Suppressed your can hear the firing pin hit and the impact on target. I use these for smaller game and pests.I've been shooting 208 Amax in a bolt gun with 8.1gr of Lil Gun with good results. I had heard that subs really just don't shoot well but I have had good luck (not benchrest accurracy but usually always under an inch at 100 yards). Just got some of the Maker Rex bullets to shoot a few deer (sub'd) and had to come all the way down to 7.4gr to get below the speed of sound consistently (not sure if the different bearing surface, softer material or what caused the faster speed). They shot dang near as good as the Amax & will open down to ~600 fps. In the 900-1100 fps range they open to around 1" in diameter. Should work on pesky deer.
