300 black out extraction in a rem 700

Is going to a Sako style extractor a cure for the extraction issue that seems to plague 300 Black Outs built on Rem. 700's? (or variations with similiar extractors)

I've had 2 300blk built on stock 700's and both of them extract just fine. A buddy built one on a 7 and it works fine also.

No problems here , savage and rem . What size bolt face did you start with ?
Did it work with orig cal?

It is actually on a 722,.... which was of course a 222rem. Functions flawlessly with the 223 barrel on the rec.

Check your rim thickness , if your using pnw ammo . Found a lot that not cut correctly ( extractor groove too shallow and others too deep)

I forgot to ask , what exactly happens , pull over rim , drops part way out , or other ?

Seems to do this with all types of brass,.... new 300 B/O as well. seems like the extractor just doesn't get a very good purchase on the case.

Tried a bolt from a factory rem black out,.... works good. It is the position of the extractor in the bolt nose recess,.... anybody know if you can substitute a std 700 rivotless extractor in its place?

Thinking of putting a tiny 5/40 set screw in the lip of the bolt to better position the "tooth" of the existing extractor,.... thoughts?

Is this a suppressed rifle? Some times the can makes too much pressure. Maybe a little less powder?
