Anybody ever hear of a 30 x 48 chambering? A friend just bought one from a local Cabela's.
Built on a Rem 700 receiver, heavy contour stainless 22" barrel, dedicated fiberglass stock. Ident on the barrel is 30 x 48 330 NK., 330 being the chamber neck dia. of course.
If the 48 refers to mm, than that's approx. 1 7/8" for the case length, so it can't be a 30 BR.
Looked through my latest copy of "Cartridges of the World" and it's not shown.
He's a machinest so has no problem pulling the barrel & rechambering (after we borescope it) to a different cartridge if it's not practical to use the barrel.
ps: Meant to say, dedicated "benchrest" fiberglass stock.
