30 T/C

Has anyone played with this case? If so, what did you use for brass? Would it be possible to set a factory 700 .308 bbl back , and chamber it to 30 T/C ?

Is there a reason you don't want to use Hornady 30 TC brass?

Or chamber to 300 Savage
I like the 300 savage case, and was actually looking it over again which led me to the t/c case. The savage case has a smaller dia at the web, and a short neck. The t/c case is about the same, but has a std dia web and long enough neck.

I don't have much faith in the quality of Hornady brass, and wouldn't spitball a project if it was the only option.
I think, if I was opposed to using Hornady brass, I would try to convince myself to want a different cartridge.

As Will Henry said above. You can easily form them from 308 brass. Then you can start with a better quality brass. I’m not sure why you would want to rechamber from a 308, that you already have though.

Yeah,
I was just spitballing, but lots of good brass options out there if it 6.5 is long enough when expanded. I asked about setting a .308 bbl back because I had found a unique Rem factory bbl take off that would of made a cool deer rifle, but it sold before I got an answer if it'd work . The case has a 30 degree shoulder, and is almost .100 shorter length. It'd fit a 2.800 mag box better while only giving up less than a grain of capacity to a .308.
