In the process of putting together a 30 Nosler. Got everything but a reamer. I was wanting to run 215-230 hybrids. I was just wondering what kind of freebore everyone is running, before I come up with a reamer. Thanks in advance.
I’m running a 0.280 on mine to accommodate the 230 gr. Berger Hybrids and that puts the lower bearing surface of the bullet at the lower third of the neck.In the process of putting together a 30 Nosler. Got everything but a reamer. Great infoI’m running a 0.280 on mine to accommodate the 230 gr. Berger Hybrids and that puts the lower bearing surface of the bullet at the lower third of the neck.
I believe that I can run the 210’s without any trouble and reach “touch” on the rifling at the throat. - I know that the 208’s, 215’s and 220’s are also good to go.
I believe that I’m just shy on the 245 EOL and 250 A-Tips, the 230 A-Tip is above the neck / shoulder junction. (I didn’t plan to ever run 245’s or the 250’s as I’m running a 1-9” twist on one 30” BBL and a 1-10” on the other)
I recommend ADG brass or Peterson if you can find either of them. - I haven’t tried Peterson yet in this caliber but the ADG I have. -Great info
Awesome.225 will be about right for both
