To help with barrel heat I was thinking about doing a ladder test. I usually do a ocw test. All I have is a Caldwell chronograph and 400 yard range. Can this test be done efficiently and accurately with this?
 
Yes, a ladder test is a good way to rough in a sporter barrel. These get hot very fast and shooting a bunch of groups is tough. After you shoot the ladder test then you will know where to focus your 3 shot groups to fine tune it.
 
Berger has a starring load for VV N570 at 82.5gn and a Max of 86.7gn. You guys think 84 Gn would be a good starting point for load work up?
