30 HBR loads

Recently purchased a 30hbr. He sent a little load data for 130gr pills. Anyone have any info on this caliber with 150-175gr? Or info on how much to reduce 308 loads to start out. Thanks

13.5tw shld be able to stabelize up to 175gr? Just got stock hydro dipped and looking at using this caliber for a little hunting.

Depends on the particular 175. Some designs say 13. Might get into trouble in cold conditions.

What is the freebore? If it is a 13.5 twist, you'd think that it would have enough FB to handle a longer bullet.

Lighter bullets than you are wanting to use. I can't find anything on bullets that heavy. Heck, I don't hunt deer with bullets that heavy from any caliber.

i dont know fb off hand. I have lots of 165 sst, accubombs, and inerlocks to to play with. Just need an idea where to start.

Look at the data that I sent, find the heaviest bullet mentioned. Back off the powder charge to account for the heavier bullet.

You might end up bailing on the powders listed and going with something slower.

I'd look at 300 Savage and 30 TC in preference to 308. Closer to the 30x47 capacity.

Just keep in mind that you're plowing new ground. Start low. Go slow. Watch for pressure.

I have a 30X47 made on the 300 Savage case which has the shoulder pushed back 10 thousands but left the over all length of the 300 Savage case. Mine has a 10" twist. Mine shoots 125s at 2850 fps with a compressed load of 42 grs IMR 4895, and 2650 fps with same 42 grs IMR 4895 with 150s. I have to drop to 40 grs IMR 4895 with 168s and get 2600 fps. I nave never shot heaver than 168s. Accuracy is outstanding with all bullets.
