30 cal 175 bergers: Starting load help please

Not quite sure why I got these (hang over from SMK 175's?) but I have 2 boxes of the Long Range BT Target 175's. These are the G1 BC = .515 and G7 = .264 variety.
Anyway since there really aren't enough to trade I figured I would give them a shot in my 20" savage or my 28" FTR and/or my gas gun (M1A) for 600 yard MR/prone. I don't have a Berger manual so I was looking for some starting load data. I have Varget and RL-15 available for these so I was thinking 43 gr and 41 grains respectively but wanted a sanity check.

Also, is anybody shooting these anymore or is it all pretty much 155.5's, 185's and 200's?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed, Just loaded some of these for an old bolt rig. Found them to be much more accurate than 175 sierras at 1000, though the BC seems overstated. Start at the low end of common loads for the 175 sierra, etc. Would avoid the powders you mention for the m14 and go with H4895. If you decided to go with anything above the lowest node, urge a Schuster. Seymour

Roger on the gas gun powder, thanks

M95M
.308 -175 GRAIN BERGER BULLETS
RE-15 = START 39.0 , MAX 43.3 APPROXIMATE FILL RATIO OF 99%
VARGET = START 38.5 , MAX 43.0, APPROXIMATE FILL RATIO OF 101%
these loads and fill ratios are based on a magazine length round.
We do not suggest you use the Long Range Boat tail target 175s in your M1A due to the length of the bullet vs cartridge case length. Use the 168 CLASSIC HUNTER or 175 grain OTM bullets.
