I see charges from 32.6 to 35 grains to H4198, that's quite the range. My rifle is a panda using a Robinette reamer, using 118 bullets. At 3 rounds per every 3 tenths that's like 27 shots. Do you recommend running the whole test? What would you do? Would you test at 100yds or further out?

TY Don.

I would test at 100 yds. and if the rifle is new to you it may be beneficial to go all the way thru the range or until you see pressure. Small groups can be found with some rifles at lower charges.

Some common loads that have worked well in a 30BR over the years are 33.8, 34.5 and around 35.1 of H4198, depending on lots and rifles/bbls. When they first became popular, 33.8 was where most of us worked around. As time has gone on, more and more have found the higher nodes to work well too.

34 to 35 has always been the place to start. My standard load for most of the two dozen 30 BR rifles always fell around 34.5 for 4198 and 35 to 36 for N130.

I know my way around the 30BR fairly well.

Through the years, I have found that 34.4 to 35.1 grns of 4198 is the sweet spot.

However, you will find that making the 30BR really tighten up is predicated on seating depth. They tend to be very susceptible to this, but once you find it, you will know.
