30-40 Krag 445 SM

Got some brass from a guy already prepped so I primed them an loaded them with a 445 Super mag. load as I was putting them in the box I saw that several of the cases were 30-40 Krag can these be used as 445 super mag. If no I will just discard them Thanks Lou

Thanks that is a great write up Information I never knew about the 445 I had a contender 445 that printed 1-1/2" at 100 yards After Delaware passing that pistol rifles legal for Deer I sold the contender barrel and grips and scope I ordered an MGM 27" SS bull barrel for the frame I kept had a Contender TH stock went shooting before I read the article I shot at 25 yards to get on paper shooting 30 grains H-110 with 225 grain solid brass Berger bullets after getting it on paper shot a 3 shot group 1/2" I didn't get to shoot at 100 as I was shooting on the 25 yard pistol range foaming at the mouth to see what it can do at 100 and conograph the speed should make a fantastic Deer thumper Thanks again for the information Lou

No worries Lou, I love those thumpers too. I have a Rossi 92 Carbine 454 Casull that is one of my favorite rifles...I've gone through it a bit and got it slicked up with a decent trigger...it's no bench rest rifle and not much to look at that's for sure, but it sure is a hammer...shot a nice russian boar with it some years back.
