30 30 Cast Bullet Question

Has anyone loaded these 170 Gr cast bullets from Bear Creek Supply in their Marlin 336 30-30? They have some kind of hard moly coating and their website says to run medium jacketed bullet speeds. I’m just interested to see if anyone else has tried these bullets to see how it worked out.

Google them and visit their website and you will get some reviews. First one is from "Mic" McPhearson. He should know if anyone does

I’ve been on their website, but I didn’t check the reviews. I’ll go back and check them now.

I’ll drop this here just in case it helps someone in the future:

This morning I called and spoke to the gentleman at Bear Creek Supply and he suggested that 1,500 to 1,600 fps would be a top end load for these bullets. He also recommended trying 10 grains of Unique or 17 grains of IMR 4227 as loads to try in my old marlin.

My home cast bullet, with gas check, did ok with a reduced load of IMR 4895. Loaded in Win 94 30-30 and 30-06 Springfield.

Diameter best at .309" or .310" depending on barrels groove diameter & throat.
Use the Lyman M die to expand.

Marlin 336 30-30
Micro-groove rifling was an issue for me with 44 magnum in a Marlin 1894. Best if rifle has ballard cut rifling style

My 30-30 is also a micro groove. The guy at Bear Creek Supply said that these bullets should work at his recommended velocities, so we shall see.
