30-06

It should do just fine on deer. I and a buddy have used the 125 Ballistic Tip in a number of different 30 cal. weapons to kill a bunch of deer over the past 30 years. We have killed them to a touch over 300 yards with no problems. With the BT you just need to keep your impact velocity under 3000 fps. I have not used the Accubond 125 30 cal. but do use the 130 gr in my 264 Win. Mag at a muzzle velocity of 3350 fps and it does awesomely from point blank to a touch over 500 yards so far for me. You can run the AB at some SMOKING velocities and it will expand but hold together and keep on trucking at close range.

If a 80 grain ttsx 6mm will dump a deer a 125 sure will...

If a 60gr Partition will kill a deer, no problems for heavier bullets.

Daughter dropped one with 115gr Berger VLD-H out of my 257 Roberts. She said he kinda swelled up, went stiff legged, and fell over. Distance about 50 yards.

I have shot boxes full of 125gr BT's out of my 30.06 @ 3100fps. Deadly accurate and a hammer on smaller game out to 300y, id imagine the accubond would do what you need. My son has shot a load of warthog and other small to med size game with the 30.06 and 125s and the damage at closer range is actually not to bad on meat. I tried them in my 300WM as well, strange how another 100 or 2 fps can zip an animal open and turn a ballistic tip into a mortar...

I've hunted with 30-06 for more than 50 years and I used to carry 125 grains Cor-lokts for short distances of 150 and below and 150 grainers for above 150 to 250 yards and 165 grainers for 250 to 400 yards. Biggest deer I shot was a 12 pointer with the 125 grainer with perfect shot placement behind the shoulder before the internet back in the 80's in Terlingua. I never used it again, it just exploded inside the body and damage a lot of meat. I now use 165 grainers for both deer and elk, still using cor-lokt ammo. But in my defense I have no experience with other bullet designs as the technology has advanced and I haven't, but I know what I can do with the cor-lokts.
