30-06 load work up and trajectory?

All of this '06 talk is giving me a warm fuzzy feeling! My Cooper Custom Classic in 30-06 is due in any day now. I have had a couple of 06's in the past and now own a handfull or two of rifles - magnums and standard calibers. But when it was time to treat myself to "something special", it had to be a 30-06.

49 gr. of Varget behing 150gr Sierrea GameKing backed off the lands about .02 has given me a lot of three shot groups running in .8" , .9" range in a Montgomery Wards Mauser . That oughta anchor you a deer if it works in your rifle . Kenneth

My 30-06 hunting load. Sierra 150 gr gameking, 50.0 grs H4895, CCI LR primer, seated to 3.28 in. My Weatherby Mark V shoots 1" at 100 yds using this load. My sons Tikka T3 also likes this load. A couple weeks ago i did a 300 yd ladder test with H4350. I came up with 59.5 grs as a good node, but didn't get as good of grouping at 100 yds. From what i see in burn rate charts, and hodgdons load data. Varget and H4895 are very similar. You would be fine with either of them. I plan to work more on the H4350 loads in the spring.
