30-06 load recommendation?

Hunting deer in a month in NE Oregon. I'm taking my 1980's era Savage 110 in 30-06. I've got IMR-4350 and some 165gr Nosler Accu-Bonds.

Anyone have a good load for this? I have other powders to include:

IMR-4064, RL-15, IMR-4895.

Thanks,
Tony.

long used 46.0 gr imr 4895 or 46.5 gr imr 4064

Every rifle barrel is different. No one load works for every rifle. You still have time to work up a load which you should for your rifle. I use 55.5 gr. H4350 with Barnes TSX 168s so you may be able to go a bit heavier with your cup and core. Do a ladder test by shooting in .3 gr. increments from 53 gr. to about 57 gr.. Stop if your primers flatten. Shoot at the same aiming spot for every shot. Plot your shots on a piece of paper. You will hopefully come up with a vertical string with a couple of shots closer together than the rest. The load in between the two shots closest together (if more than one node, the highest velocity for hunting) would be the place to start looking at shooting groups. Seat your Accubonds about .020" off the lands to start. You can fine tune a bit with bullet seating adjustment but obviously magazine length is your ultimate limit.
I also live in Oregon, hope your hunt is terrific!

I use IMR 4350 as well. That seemed to be the most recommended for the 30-06 that I found as well. Last deer season I used ballistic tips and this year will be going back to the 165 game king. I didn't chrono the B/T's but did notice that the bullets were coming apart completely in the deer.

My go to 30-06 load is 54g H414, ( W760 is the same) 165g bullet, prints 5/8" w/a 22" sporter bbl @ 100 yds.

I load H4350 with 165 gamekings for western mute deer, and H4895 with 150 gamekings for Wi whitetails. Your IMR powders in that range will work very well also.

57 gr IMR 4350, 165 grain best load I have found for the two 30 06 I have. Worked deadly in a Africa on all plains game taken.

another vote for 57g of IMR 4350 with a 9 1/2 primer on 165's. I had one rifle that loved 56 and another that liked 58g. The rifle that liked the 58g load had it's brass full sized on every reloading.

My rifle is a Win push feed M70 with an aftermarket (old, old, I bought the rifle used over 20 years ago.) lightweight B&C stock.

My load is Rem Brass, CCI 200, 165gr Gameking, 48.1gr of IMR-4064. This load was recommended to me as a clone of the FGMM 168gr load, which is what I first loaded it with. I then substituted the 165 SGK as a trial and it shoots the same just-sub 1MOA at 200yd, with just a small change in POI.

This load also qualifies for safe use in my Garand.

A year ago, this load did a through and through quartering shot on a 130lb doe. Tracked the doe 200yd in thick brush, took another shot to finish her. The doe was the middle deer of three all jammed up together when the shot was taken, the hit was a bit higher than I would have liked, but lower would have involved all three animals. They just kept coming to me, and eventually it was shoot or get run down.

After last season, I switched from a Weaver V-16 (4-16x40) to a 2.5-10x42; the minimum 4x was too much magnification for the shot at about 30yd.

FWIW

Hodgdon say this about H4350:

"It had its origin in the 30-06 as a military powder and was the first powder Bruce Hodgdon sold to the loading public."

About spherical H414 they say:

"It is simply ideal in the 30/06 [sic]. ... H414 yields similar results to H4350 in most cartridges, although charge weights will vary."

So, hard to go wrong using H4350.
