30-06 Lapua brass measurement at the 0.200 datum line?

I don't have any brass but I have a reply from 12 years ago when I asked a Lapua sales Rep that same question.

"I have several samples of our 30-06 brass on hand here in the office. All of those that I measured ran from a low of .4650” to .4654” just ahead of the extractor groove. While we (and most everyone else) list .470” as the head diameter at this point, this is a SAAMI/CIP maximum dimension, and virtually all cases will run somewhat below that figure."

Thanks for the reply Edd! Yes you are correct The problem is I have a 22-6mm AI heavy gun (20+ lbs) that I and 2 other buddies are very happy with the accuracy and performance and going to have another built for the “Ultimate” Coyote carry rifle shooting heavyweight bullets. We had our reamer designed around 6mm Remington brass and the reamer is 0.469 at the 0.200 datum line and works beautifully with no bulging or swelling at that datum point using our old brass. 6 mm Remington brass is nonexistent anymore and thought I could make some from RWS 270 Winchester brass and found out it measures 0.464” and thought maybe Lapua 30-06 brass was closer to 0.468”. Just don’t want that “Pregnant” look on a fired piece of brass. And as you probably know Remington brass is known to be a little soft too.
