3 or 4 inch front stock

For those of you that have gone from a 3 to 4 inch front end.
Have you notice a lot more stability?

"Yes, for me, 4" is more stable. "A lot more" may depend on the shooter"

Is offsetting the extra inch to the left actually advantageous?

Here is a picture of a 17# gun that I built for a customer that tracks like it's on rails. 6" in front 2.25 rear. No movement when working the bolt. This one is a hand rubbed oil finish. Finish is as smooth as can be, no stock tape needed.

All four of my guns are in 4" stocks now. I find them to be much more stable. Especially so after a short retake with a 3" stock a couple months ago.

Wider would likely always be more stable but 4" is a noticeable improvement over 3". The LRB stock works very well as does adding Field and Cave rails and a rudder to a 3"'stock.

Went to field & cave and didn't see rails, does anyone else have them?
