Yes match fees for any of our matches are $40.00 for non-members and $30.00 for members. Membership is only $30, and that gives you a $10 discount for every match, accept for the regionals. The reason for the fees are because we only have HP matches to help pay for the club insurance and other material costs the club incurs.

Shawn,

Thanks for running the match yesterday. The switching tailwind we had was challenging and a good way to start the season. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you there often this summer.

Thanks again.

Wade

Shawn,
Thanks again for setting up the match. For my first F-class shoot it was an awesome experience.

Wade,
Thank you for your help and suggestions yesterday. You were a huge help and made my day a more pleasurable experience. Looking forward to shooting with you again sometime!

Newbie here, I have a savage for 30"inch barrel with bipod weighs in under 17 lbs I think. So I shoot at hillside been wanting to hit some matches to learn but have no match experience . What does a guy actually need down there to shoot equipment wise. have no spotter which makes it kinda of difficult do they match you up with someone. Never been in the pits where do I get the experience. Only match hillside is having is what they are calling a sniper match. Have no ideas on what that consist of. So what do I do just show up and hope for the best.

Wjesswheel,

Sounds like you have the rifle that will work. As far as equipment is your Savage .308 or something else? If .308 you will be f-t/r otherwise you are f-open. Since you have a bipod I would get a rear bag. Other equipment you'll want a mat or something to put down on the ground and a spotting scope, binoculars so you can see the target to score for the shooter you are squaded with. Basically just sign up and the way you get experience is to start shooting. Club matches are just fancy names for squaded practice within a match format. We do run regionals and state matches which are bigger but again it is just all practice and having fun nobody is making a living off of this nor is it life and death. It is just all for fun. During the club matches (not regional or state matches) we allow coaching so the person your squaded with can help you out. What I would suggest is sign up for our next mid range match, April 19th it is a 300/500/500 since we are on Range 5. I can squad you with an experienced shooter and go from there. It is easy. Pulling pits is easy and nothing to it.

Wade and Brian you are welcome and glad you both enjoyed it hope to see you at the next match. Wade I agree it was challenging but with the thick mirage it was fun. Even though I dropped 6pts. with my irons on the third match when it got stronger that was probably the most fun match because of the wind.

Thanks,
Shawn
