The Santa Margarita Gun Club will be holding a 3x600 Mid Range Match on Saturday, 3-26-16 and an 80 NMC Across the Course Match on Easter Sunday, 3-27-16.

The matches will be held on Camp Pendleton, Range 103.

You must pre-register by 1500, Wednesday, 3-23-16.

I would like to come out and watch to get the basic concepts of a match down and possibly meet a few folks. Do I have to register and just not shoot? Or what is going to be the best approach?

The procedure for gaining access to the base has recently changed. It is now required that non-military personnel are sponsored (i.e. by Santa Margarita Gun Club) and be on a list in order to be granted access. The easiest thing for you would probably be to submit your DL info at the following link:

and then just sign up for the match under "Rifle" here:

https://www.smgunclub.org/prereg/

Once you're on the list, I don't think it will be any problem to gain access, then you can just tell Harry Harrison or Ken Letwin (Match Directors) that you simply want to watch and see how everything shakes out. It might not be a bad idea to contact Harry directly just to confirm what I just stated is correct. Check your PMs.
