284 with Hornady 180 eld-m

Wondering if the consensus is to jam or jump? Shooting a 284W chamber in a 30” bartlein 9 twist. Getting ready to shoot these bullets and being as components are expensive I would like some info on preferred jam or jump for 1000 benchrest

I have always had good luck with a jump on those bullets but I have had a some bad luck with them coming apart on me. A few extra cents per bullet may be worth while depending how serious you are.

Been shooting bergers but hard to get a good supply. I see guys shooting them in 7 saum and liking them,,what are you shooing them out of and how fast?

I have shot them out of 7 SAUMs mostly and have gotten a few blow ups. I have had a few go poof out of a 7 mag and a 7LRM. I even had one blow up out of a 280 Ackley. All Proof barrels except the .280 that was a Shillen all 9 twist and all shot during load development, so new barrels. I only shoot them for foulers and break in any more. I work too hard building a nice rifle for my clients for a bullet to make me look bad.
