284 Win with 168 Barnes LRX

Has anyone shot the 168 grain Barnes LRX from their 284 win?? I will be soon but was wondering if anyone had already shot them and what kind of accuracy you have gotten. I will be using H4350 from a 24" barrel with .270 freebore.

Where did you end upon this load? I'm here in CA and the 168lrx looks to be the best copper projectile, but wow is it a long bullet! Are you using a 9 or 8 twist?

I tried them in a 9-twist at sea level and they would not stabilize. I haven't tried them in my 8.5 twist yet but am thinking that it will take that or more (8-twist) to reliably stabilize the 168 LRX. FWIW I shot the 150 TSX out of a 1-twist for years. They shot incredibly well and terminal performance was amazing. I have played with a few of the LRX and have not had luck getting them to group well in the few rifles I have tried them in. I just went back tot he TSX and TTSX.

Try the 145 lrx instead. Better bullets for anything smaller then moose/ big elk anyways.
The good terminal performance is dependent on velocity or a good deal of resistance on impact.
