.284 Win Seating die for a .284 Walker?

I know they had different shoulder angles but would it be possible? I have a Whidden Sizing die I just need to get some sort of seater.

Die's are over Whidden dies are over $100 and custom dies even more.

I think you can make that work.

To make Shehane seater dies, I start with a Redding 284 WIN die and run the Shehane finish reamer into it. The Shehane and 284 WIN have the same shoulder angle, so this process is pretty straightforward. The Walker case has a different shoulder angle, but this is only a seater die. So, maybe you can just run the reamer up to where the shoulder starts on the 284 and leave it at that. In other words, the body of the seater sleeve is what centers the case: doesn't matter that the shoulder angle is not a perfect match. I don't think it is necessary to run the reamer deeper to correct the shoulder angle and this may cause other problems, like running out of seater stem adjustment and needing to shorten the sleeve at the bottom.

Now, will all this be cheaper than $100? Probably not. Wildcat chambers require custom dies. If cost is an issue, stick with SAAMI cartridges.
