Loading straight 284's using necked up 6.5's. My necks are turned and cut into the shoulder. After the first firing, the doughnut is big enough to prevent a bullet from sliding past.
My question is, if I am not seating my bullets deep enough that the bearing surface does not contact the doughnut, will the doughnut affect accuracy? Since the doughnut itself is inconsistent, does that lend itself to less consistent loads?
