284 small base help

I normally shoot WW 284 brass and after firing it is .498 at the base and reloads fine. I acquired 400+ fired Lapua 6.5/284 cases that are .501 at the base and neither of my 284 FL dies reduce the base below .500 and will not chamber. I hate to not use all this good Lapua brass. Anyone have a suggestion for squeezing the 284 base below .500? Thanks in advance. -lige

I don't know if it'll work or not but, you might wanna talk to Paul about one of his "ring dies".

Look up precision brass ops on Facebook. He has a roll sizer for this very reason. Not sure if it will work on 284 but it would be worth a shot.

A small base die will work for getting the base down to size but bumping the shoulder down enough with most dies can be another issue to consider. I had a buddy at work cut .015" off a shell holder and am gonna try that in conjunction with my S type die. A custom die would also be somthing to consider. E
