284 Shehane "Clicker" Problem

I solved my Shehane clicker problem a while back.
Solution:
Redding small based 284 Win Die. bored out top down to approx 0.2" from bottom of die. (see pictures) If I can do it in my old Grizzly Mill than anyone with even the least amount of machining skill should be able to do it. (I'm a retired mechanical engineer with severely challenged machining skills, college only teaches theory, machining is a skill) Carbide end mill cut it like a hot knife through butter. I realize that it probably would have been better to modify the die in a lathe but unfortunately I do not have one. Heck anyone can do excellent work if they have the right tools!!!!
Resized the "clickers with this modified small based die first.
Then I also purchased a new 284 Shehane die from Blake Barrel and Rifle. This is a fantastic die that matches my chamber really well. After resizing the bottom part of the case with the modified Redding die I used the Blake Barrel die to resize the remainder of the case.
I have both Peterson and Lapua brass for my Shehane. The reason I went through all this trouble was that the Peterson brass gave me better ES/SD numbers and better groups on target than the Lapua brass. If I had to take a guess why it would be that the Peterson brass has a more consistent case volume. However, I do not sort my brass by weight nor do I attempt to measure case volume so I cant say for sure.
OK the real reason I tried this approach is because I'm retired and it gave me something to do. Although an alternate solution would have been to open up the chamber I really didn't want to play around with the barrel and take a chance on screwing it up. The Redding small base die cost me less than $50.0 the barrel including chambering was over $750. I'm not a gambler I try to minimize my losses in case I screw up. Fortunately in this case things worked out pretty well.
