284 Shehane body die

What are you doing to full length resize your 284 Shehane brass? Mine has a few firings and the bolt is becoming more difficult to close and open. I normally only neck size.

My .284 build is not done yet, but I just got a great buy on a full length .284 Shehane bushing die from Whidden Gunworks. I took it apart and compared it to my Redding 30BR bushing die and I'd say the quality is just as good. I don't have a fired case to try since I have not chambered the barrel yet, but I do have the PT&G reamer in hand. I carefully slipped the reamer into the die (after removing the decapper, of course) and it fit perfectly.

I have one of the excellent (and expensive) Warner FL sizing dies. The headspace is adjustable in .001" increments via shims. There are also other, very good custom dies. If your Shehane is a competition rifle, the cost is worth it.

+ 1 on the WTC die. You want straight ammo that fits in your chamber? The WTC die is the one. You can use the die body for other chamberings by simply ordering different inserts.

I've been using a Redding S type full length sizing die that I got through Bill Shehane. It seems to match my chamber well & sizes nice concentrically. No doubt a full blown custom die would be the ultimate but Ive been very happy with the Redding item.
