Hi guys
I need some info on 284 Lapua and 284 winchester, are they the same chambers ? if not where can i find the Lapua cartridge spec. I have a 284 seating Die cut with Lapua reamer but the new barrel will have a winchester chamber cut in it.

It is just a .284 Winchester chamber cut for Lapua 6.5X.284 brass.

The 284 Lapua reamer will be larger in diameter than the Winchester chamber, so your seating die is going to be a loose fit with the Winchester chamber.... Better to have a new seater made with the Winchester reamer that to deal with the difference...

No its a 284 Lapua reamer used to cut the seater but the gunsmith may use a winchester reamer on the new barrel

What preacher said is correct; if you use a 284 Lapua seater on sized 284 Winchester brass (sized to fit a 284 Winchester chamber), the fit will be a touch loose, and may adversely affect concentricity.

That may explane y my redding small body die is over working my lapua brass that has been fired in my second barrel that was chambered with Lapua reamer.
