I have a 284 with a .315 neck chamber, I must turn my necks to .013 ot get the .004 clearance that .284's like.
Coming out of the chamber my cases measure .475 at the body/shoulder junction; this is normal.
I have a Foster FL sizer (non-bushing) that will leave it at .473... great, but the necks barely have .001 tension.
I have a reading Type S with Neck bushing, but it really squeezes the body/shoulder to .468 (almost .007 reduction) and will leave a little burn on the top of the body.
I called Redding and they said that their dies have to work for minimum chamber, and that much is normal.. I feel like that much sizing is too much... am I wrong?
Short of going to custom dies and putting the gun on the shelf for 8 weeks..... any thoughts?
I could use the Forster to body size and bump and then come back with a Lee collet die, but Lee doesn't make one for win 284.
I'm open to suggestions.
