.284 Brass Question

Since we cant get Lapua, what brass are you guys using or recommend? Thanks in advance

I do quite a bit of wild catting on the .284 case and have normally
used Norma. Norma is rare lately, so started working with Peterson.
I'm impressed with the Peterson brass so far.

Lots of different .284 reamers ?
I had two .284 F/Open Rifles . #1 Rifle used 6.5X.284 Lapua necked up . Fantastic.......
#2 Rifle New Reamer same Smith for Lapua .284 Brass. One large Pain in the Pie Hole................
If I wanted to use Norma or Peterson ? Neck Turning was in order.

My reamer required turning of both Lapua and Peterson. The average accuracy seems about the same at 100 yds but the Lapua has less occasional WTH moments at longer distances. At first I used 6.5-284 Lapua necked up but got donuts around 3-4 firings. Fine with 180 Hybrids but definitely felt the 180 ELDM pushing through the tight spot.

Ken Waters had high marks for Winchester .284 brass in a Pet Loads column years ago. No idea if they still make it.

My 284 Shehanes have all used Lapua 6.5-284 necked up and turned due to a tight neck. My XP-100 pistol and Model 100 semi-auto use Winchester brass. I don't expect much from the Winchester brass, at least the last production run, as flash holes were all visibly off center by a fair amount. They work, but not match level brass. The older Winchester was pretty good for the price.

1st vote = Peterson, great stuff, nice smooth even neck tension
2nd vote = Winchester brass, after being uniformed, deburred and all that good stuff
