My 280 Remington Improved 40 degree has a long throat (freebore). Bullets need to be seated out much farther than one might expect to touch the lands. Is this normal in this wildcat caliber?
This would be actually on the short side. The Remington magazine box internal box length is 3.7". You are gtg.To further explain my question, here is an example: the OAL of a Nosler 140gr Accubond buller, seated just off the lands, is 3.485 inches. Would that be considered normal in this caliber?
The rifle barrel has a 1:9.5 twist. I expect that the 197 grain bullet would not stabilize in this rifle.
