280 remington bullet

I had a hart barreled,Hs per stock rifle made by a local gun smith. It has a 1 in 9 1/4 twist. it shoots the smk 130 very well @ 100 yds. Best group around 1/4 inch. But the 200 yd accuracy is just around 3/4. I have tried the 168 smk that will shoot 5/8 inch. I use imr 4831 powder,51 gr with the 130,and 52 gr with the 168. the 200 yd accuracy is more important to me anyone have an idea on smaller groups at 200 yds

I wonder why your using less powder with a lighter bullet ????
A good load at 100 yards is not always good at a distance...
Sounds like more testing is called for out a ways...
Have you had the HS stock skim bedded ?

I tried 51/54 grs of IMR 4831 in both the 130 and 168 smks bullets. I have not tried RL22 or H4831SC yet. I had scope trouble at the end of the summer with a new weaver T36. which ended my testing. I used remington brass and have since bought hornady brass. the league I shoot with shoot at 100 yards standing and sitting and 200 yards off the bench
