mine is 26" schnieder on a remington action i shoot 140 bergers with imr 4831 60 grains at 3240 fps cci large rifle primer and nosler brass and it also shoots in the 3s

Another member here suggested I try the 140 Berger VLD Hunting bullet...and he was right!!! I have a Kimber Mountain Ascent which is a real light feather weight barrel. It likes 57.5 grains of IMR4831. I might try to go up and get to the next node...was kind of hoping to get a little more velocity, but as picky as this rifle shoots I am probably lucky to have gotten to where I am.

Have you any more info on your .280? I have the Kimber and trying to work up a load with the 131 Hammers

I haven't at this time sir. Not that I don't want to, but just too busy these days. I haven't fired any of my rifles in months, in fact I cant even remember shooting this one last. I will say though that I did some testing with Reloder 26 and I liked it a lot. Just didn't get into it enough to reach any positive conclusions with this rifle. I guess I need to get busy though with hunting season right around the corner. I did buy some Barnes bullets to try. I'll keep you posted.

Trying hammers now ,seem to get to 3200 fps with ease.
